Activity

We are going to host a “Project Runway” for our students! They will have the opportunity to “Redesign the School Uniform” (this is an assignment for all students, along with entering designs in the “Casual” and/or “Dress-Up” Categories). Ms. Pena will provide paper figurines for the students to dress. On Jan 25, three judges will come to each class and pick a male and female winner. Parents/community will be invited on Jan 29th to see the winners displayed and cast their votes for the best in each of the three categories. We will have door prizes and awards for the male/female winner in each category. Time will be 6:00-7:00 for viewing and voting on the 29th, with winners announced around 7:15-7:30, so not a late evening. Cookies and punch will be served.

Ramp-Up Literacy teachers, I would like an essay to accompany the uniform redesigns. Please provide a rubric for the particulars of the essay. Ms. Pena is going to try and show classes a clip of the show “Project Runway” to help students understand the concept of redesigning a uniform. The other two categories are optional for students to participate in, but wanted creative students to have a chance to show their talents.

THIS SHOULD BE FUN FOR STUDENTS, PARENTS, AND STAFF! PLEASE SEE MRS. MONTOYA OR MS. PENA FOR MORE DETAILS.
