Virtual Tour

Three years ago the Zuni Board Of Education and District Administrators recognized a need for more housing to accommodate growth in the Zuni Public School District.

The site placement was decided upon based on the least impact both archeologically and environmentally to the Pueblo Of Zuni. Due to the close proximity of the Zuni High School, The Teacherage was so named.

Construction is now completed on the Zuni High School Teacherage.

The goal is to maintain and operate this housing as a planned community provided to certified teachers and administrators. Rents are minimal with utilities subsidized by the school district.

The teacherage consists of 36 duplex apartments either two or three bedroom. Units are equipped with such amenities as a washer and dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal and other top of the line appliances. The finishing touches included upgraded cupboards with adjustable shelving, mini blinds throughout, and sliding glass doors with vertical blinds which exit onto covered patios in the fenced in backyards.
